BLVR  is looking for a freelance community manager to join our team. This is an opportunity to build one of our client’s social media presence across our multiple sports partnerships as well as with our community. This role will focus heavily on sports focused community management with requirements to manage day to day community management of the brand outside of sports as well. We are looking for someone who is well versed in community management with a deep knowledge and understanding of multiple sports, sports and fan culture. The role will start freelance with the opportunity to become full time. 

The Challenge – Sports Community Management

Sport fans demand a sophisticated experience on social and mobile. They’re connected with their teams, players and idols through interactions that bring them closer to the game, now more than ever before. 

Whether it’s the build-up, in-action live commentary and opinion, or post-match highs and lows, the nature of sports is more expressive, real-time and demanding than ever before. This is where we see the most potential to leverage our client as not only a partner, but a fan of sports teams. We’re looking to accelerate their growth into new markets and across additional sports.

The Challenge – Brand Community Management 

Our client is a new brand in the market, looking to challenge and turn the industry on its head. We need to be present in conversations, posting relevant content, and leaning into our strategy. 

What you’ll do

Community Management

  • Define the overall community management & channel strategy for key platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, Facebook, Reddit)
  • Develop monthly community management strategy
  • Build and develop one-on-one relationships on social going beyond answering inquiries and dealing with crises within community management (on-page and off-page)
  • Stay up to date on sports partnership games and ensure we are present for the build-up, in-action live commentary and opinion, match highs and lows, UGC monitoring, being present where the fans are present. 
    • React quickly and creatively to live sport while planning and publishing content across all platforms
    • Understand the inner workings of sports tournaments and be able to be in the right place at the right time to capture / post live content
  • Respond to questions / queries in a professional and timely manner 
  • Ad hoc campaign planning and development – research, build on opportunities, come up with creative social executions and campaign ideas that can be distributed across relevant social platforms
  • Identify and flag influencers that align with brand on an ongoing basis
  • Participate in brainstorms and content/campaign ideation sessions
  • Suggest recommendations or content ideas based on post-performance or user engagement on an ongoing basis
  • Report to the Executive Director of Account Management to ensure consistency across our paid and organic media 


  • Trend reports on best in class community management 
  • Report on KPIs monthly to maximize the impact
  • Develop a plan for social media growth across all our channels 
  • Stay up to date with latest social media best practices and technologies on behalf of tactical sport

Who you are

  • You have a minimum of 2 years’ experience working in either social media, creative copywriting a plus
  • You have in-depth functional knowledge and a deep understanding of community management best practices 
  • You have experience working at live sports events in social media
  • You have the ability to create, manage and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
  • You have the ability to plan ahead, organize and think practically
  • You have the ability to produce regular, accurate and engaging content to tight deadlines across multiple projects
  • Bi-lingual in english and spanish is a plus
