Are you ready?


We’re looking for an experienced Senior Brand Strategist to join us for a five-month contract while one of our team members is on maternity leave. In this role, you’ll help oversee remaining work for projects that are nearing completion as well as guide brand strategy for new projects. You’ll be a trusted client adviser, supporter of junior team members, and collaborator with other departments. You’ll be working with a very strong, close-knit team who values collaboration, trust, and compassion.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop in-depth market, customer and competitive analyses
  • Identify key questions, issues/opportunities and insight areas
  • Assist in developing point of views on brand and category dynamics
  • Serve as the internal team “expert” for planning and developing strategy and communications
  • Leads and participates in strategy development initiatives and new business pitches
  • Understands the dynamics of the client’s business and the sector in which it operates leveraging this understanding to identify new business opportunities
  • Creates new ways to think about branding and solving business challenges
  • Develops sound and inspiring creative briefs and propositions to drive the quality of creative work coming out of BLVR
  • Ensures all deliverables required from the strategy group, internally and externally, are provided in an efficient and timely manner
  • Orchestrates all brand planning, strategic planning and analytical activity for key accounts within the agency
  • Explores opportunities to expand the brand into new communications channels
  • Is cognitive of the financial implications of any recommendations made against the client brief
  • Monitors and interprets cultural and social trends, and keeps current on industry issues relevant to BLVR and our client’s business
  • Defines opportunities, collects information, establishes facts and draws valid conclusions from a variety of sources
  • Develops and delivers high impact pitches, presentations, and proposals
  • Organizes and moderates focus groups ensuring that the data collected is interpreted correctly before making recommendations
  • Recommends and implements research that will aid in the consumer insight and strategy process
  • Understands all disciplines and communications channels; account, digital, creative, direct marketing, sales promotion, media, etc.
  • Manages research vendors and provides clear specifications for relevant research to the team and client
  • Ensures strong collaborative relationships within the agency and externally with clients and agency partners to consistently elevate the quality of thinking and creativity BLVR delivers
  • Provides leadership and guidance for other departments on branding initiatives
  • Ensures a department environment that fosters personal and professional growth for team members that encourages openness of opinion and constant curiosity
  • Provides persuasive POV (verbal and written) for agency partners and clients
  • Plays a key role in the planning and execution of strategic BLVR initiatives and client engagements
  • Generate real, rounded human-driven truths via data analysis, audience research, stakeholder interviews, desk-top-research, and brainstorming sessions
  • Develop brand strategies that position Client’s businesses to success
  • Create inspiring briefs that lead to disruptive creative
  • Be a master storyteller with a compelling communication style that attracts others
  • Educate, counsel and inspire strategy team members, as well as clients and agency, on emerging trends

Skills and Qualifications

  • Seasoned brand strategist with 7+ years of experience in brand strategy at branding/creative agencies
  • Highly experienced working on upstream brand development projects that set the strategic foundation (not just campaign work)
  • Extremely comfortable building relationships with senior-level clients and quickly earning their trust
  • Excel at collaborating with creative teams to ensure strategic thinking is reflected in executional work
  • Skilled at guiding and mentoring junior team members
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working on a wide range of clients across industries from established category leaders to start-ups
  • Share BLVR’s heart for making a difference in the world
