OPPORTUNITY

BLVR is seeking a highly knowledgeable Production Business Manager who knows how to execute world-class brand storytelling at scale.The Production Business Manager will support the production department to increase the efficiency, quality, and daily output of the content team. The Business Manager is responsible for all financial and legal aspects of production for all TV, radio, print and integrated productions, including SAG & non-Union talent. They serve as an expert and main point of contact for producers and for account management for all production matters.

This person must also be creative, solutions-driven and organized to ensure high quality work is delivered on time in a fast-paced, collaborative, roll-up your sleeves and creative environment. You will be joining a diverse collection of creators, connected by a shared purpose of crafting meaningful and purposeful digital experiences.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work with client specific production guidelines and cost consultants to receive approval on production budgets
  • Review scripts, decks/storyboards for any potential licensing, copyright or legal issues
  • Work as team member with content producers and/or account management on bidding and estimating production jobs
  • Secure license agreements for stock images, stock footage and stock music
  • Issue music purchase agreements and music license agreements and experience with high profile music licensing
  • Supply producers with all needed documents for productions – insurance declaration pages, talent contracts etc
  • Handle any billing issues and ensure proper legal approvals are secured including any third-party trademark releases
  • Manage and monitor all production costs, process contracts and invoices
  • Estimate talent session, process contracts, and clear, book and issue talent contracts.
  • Actualize and close production jobs
  • Consult on agency financial processes
  • Collaborate with account management to ensure timely release and shipping of final commercials
  • Advise agency teams on production tax incentive programs and SAG waivers
  • On-board new agency vendors
  • Issue ISCI and/or Ad-Id codes for all deliverables
  • Release masters from post house to distribution facility
  • Issue final talent cast reports and create Completion Reports for every job
  • Assist in pro-bono and award submissions when needed
  • Ship and retrieve production elements from storage facilities and post houses as needed
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5 years of experience working as a production business affairs manager
  • Experience negotiating overscale/celebrity talent contracts
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with the SAG commercials contract rules/rates for talent session estimating and experience with non-union talent, including foreign talent
  • Experience with broadcast and integrated marketing
  • Self-motivated and able to manage multiple assignments & prioritize
  • Collaborative team player with ability to build and maintain solid relationships with clients, all internal teams, and external agency partners
  • Be able to learn and work well in finance software and its functionsBe able to learn and work well in finance software and its functions
  • Be agile with changing timelines & deliverables
  • Dedicated work ethic and displays a thorough attention to detail
  • Work to ensure projects stay on-time and are delivered properly
  • Computer proficiency including Microsoft Word and Excel, and Outlook Express
  • Have knowledge of legal guidelines for commercial production, licensing language, trademark, rights of privacy, copyright and production insurance
  • Comprehensive knowledge of AICP and AICE bid forms
  • Understand production workflow
  • Working knowledge of Cost Consultant process
  • Have experience working with international production and overseas talent payment negotiations
  • Highly organized and solutions-focused
  • Positive and motivated self-starter
  • Exceptional initiative, pitch-in, multitasking, attention to detail and follow-through skills
  • A calm and patient demeanor when facing stressful situations and urgent deadlines
